Individual Therapy
Everyone should be in therapy. Long before I entered this profession, I’ve understood the capacity therapy has to transform people, but it is also valuable for simply having someone to talk to without judgement or bias. Friends and family are great, but they often have their own agenda or advice. One-on-one counseling with a skilled and compassionate professional is an investment with tremendous benefits.
I work with adults though I also see young adults aged 14 and older. Below are my areas of focus and expertise:
Generalized anxiety and OCD
Unprocessed trauma, both chronic and acute
Low self worth, low motivation, and depression
Life transitions and fear of change
Relationship and communication issues
Career stagnation, difficulties, and goals
Mindfulness and exploration of self
Burnout, perfectionism, overwhelm, and chronic stress
Medical trauma and chronic health issues
Loneliness
Grief and sadness
Parenthood, infertility, and surrogacy
Boundaries
Distressing thoughts and behaviors
Emotional dysregulation
Life challenges
EMDR
Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) is a specialized therapeutic intervention that is remarkably effective at addressing PTSD and trauma, negative cognitions (beliefs) about self, anxiety, depression, and more. EMDR is a neurological intervention designed to allow your brain to heal itself by creating new, positive neural networks. I utilize a number of trusted therapy methods, including EMDR, to help clients work through trauma. Read more about trauma interventions and EMDR at Peace On You Counseling.

Insurance
I am in network with Blue Cross Blue Shielf of Oklahoma, UnitedHealthcare/United Behavioral Health/Optum/UMR, Aetna, and HealthChoice.
If you have insurance I don’t take, I am happy to provide documentation (superbill) for potential out-of-network benefits coverage. I cannot guarantee OON will be fully or partially covered.
Insurance provides a more affordable option for mental health care which is why I elected to accept it. Some with insurance still prefer to use self-pay and here are the reasons why:
You won’t have a diagnosis permanently attached to your personal health record.
Your records are protected, meaning all personal information about you cannot be obtained by your insurance provider in the case of a claim dispute.
Your care is not dictated by your insurance and what they’re willing to cover, but by the collaboration between your needs and preferences and my professional training and expertise.
